    private twitter network

    I had a random thought.

    if you were to set up a edugeek.net forwarding address or email for members, you could then use yammer to create a private edugeek twitter-esque network. (because yammer creates its networks based on email domains)

    Could also use [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laconica"]Laconica[/ame] and then you could host it off whatever servers you want and have full control of it.
