Would be nice for them to only be viewable by the thread starter, then they become viewable to everyone after deadline (If that makes sense!)
I disagree becuase the first person can come back with a new price. Also other people can see the price and buy as well.

Well you can see it all then i know the full picture. Will make work easier for you and the supplier.
I always check prices with other schools in the area before i buy anyway.

Well that was the idea, it encourages competition and there's no reason a quote can't be amended if it ends up being out of range. It will give companies a chance to argue their value added, too - so they might say, this costs £30 more than your best quote but we include a five year warranty.
It's healthy for them, and better value for the buyer
But as I said perhaps it should be up to the requestor. And we should see what ZH comes up with too, of course.

Is 1 month later a long enough delay to warrant its own forum?
There seems to be enough interest for one.

I think this was the forum that was setup for this.

28th February 2009, 11:49 PM #25 I don't see that we need a forum for this (it's not like we don't have enough already), 'Our Advertisers' suits the purpose just fine. What would be nice is an agreement on what information should be in a request, a way of the OP locking it after the deadline, and some way of making the information easy to post.
