Default Independent Schools forum

I think there could well be a place for an Independent Schools board

The one thing we have in common is that we are NOT linked in any way to each other! In fact, we're supposed to be competitors and not share probably.

However, we do have the same problems and these are often different from the state sector.

Any chance of having a new board please?

Where are the benefits in this?

We are all "Educational IT Professionals", we all deal with the same problems, the only difference being the BSF and RM Software in most cases.

Do a search for independent... you'll see the threads.

We have to pay VAT, we aren't bound by local authorities (this is both a good and a bad thing), we have to sort out our own broadband...

Many of the IT issues are the same, but in the same way as there different issues depending on which Regional Broadband Consortium you are with, we have issues simply because we are part of the independent sector

I think the whole hierarchical structure thing is rather quaint and old-fashioned - we'd be better off with Stack Overflow-style tags or similar. Personally, I just have my browser sat on the "search for new posts" URL and hit refresh occasionally, I don't even notice what section things are posted in.

And we're best, of course!
