There's been a few threads started lately about employment, unions, pay and conditions etc.
Should there be an employment forum for this, as most of it is going in 'general chat'
Just a thought.

Sounds good to me - although some of the discussions have also been in FFS. Will it perhaps be a seasonal forum - with more posts in the summer term as we all get thoroughly fed up?

Probably!
Also whenever there's threat of industrial action (I can feel more coming over the next year).

That's probably a better idea.

I disagree there. They need to be kept seperate, or have a forum of Ed-Careers and then two child forums for Jobs and one about Career / Job Advice underneath it.
Anyway, keep the jobs section separate.

3rd July 2008, 07:04 PM #7 The two sections should be separate and the career/job advice one should be one you have to log on to, like FFS, in case people say things that could identify them

3rd July 2008, 07:41 PM #8 I like witch's idea too.
I would prefer to keep the jobs section separate. It's much better for those searching for jobs if they aren't trying to pick out Situations Vacant from in between discussions over contract terms.

To me this makes sense also - the career information (as in job ads) could be public and the job advice should be registered only - as WITCH has pretty much stated above IMO
