Rep Power: 34 | I may be alone in this, so feel free to shoot me down and stamp on my head. I've posted a couple of links today, both using the full url tags, or just the link itself and it seems that vB is nipping to the page and grabbing the title or in the case of webfiltering.embc.uk.com it likes to put edugeek.net instead. - Of course, this doesn't affect the url itself, its just annoying to look at and have to hover over it to see the link. |

Rep Power: 43 | I periodically add links to websites but don't see the problem you're having. It sounds as though a label is being applied to your links. Do you have a screenshot or a post we can look at? |

Blog Entries: 1 Rep Power: 48 | Links/URL titles Yeh its caused by vbSEO, I will have a look at tweaking it possibly as it must be pulling it each time the page/thread is rendered for the vb cache. It will be for SEO optimisation. Last edited by ZeroHour; 27-03-2008 at 05:19 PM.. |

Rep Power: 34 | So painful... I don't mind it so much when ZH did it there as it fetched the name of the thread which is useful, but I posted phpmyadmin.embc.org.uk and phpadmin.embc.org.uk earlier and it actually printed two versions of the phpmyadmin software! |

Blog Entries: 1 Rep Power: 48 | This is simple to block. If you use BB code as follows it should display the way you want: This is using the php quotebox to prevent it being rendered. PHP Code: www.Something.com/blah/blah.htm NOTE: If you add http:// to the second part it will be stripped by the system. Is that okay? |

Rep Power: 34 | I'm sure I tried that as I like to make my own titles for the hyperlink itself ... Tried it just now and it was fine, so looks good to me. Cheers ZH. |
