    BBCode not stripping

    Technical issue so please excuse..

When quoting a post the [quot e=whoever] is including the salt value that's intended to keep the bbcode from being exploited which negates the purpose of the salt in the first place.

I suspect there's a bug or a missed edit in the vBulletin files that should be handling this but isn't.

    eg:
    [quot e=random_name023417743a]

*nb: I've deliberately added the space to stop the bbcode being interpreted.

I believe the number is the post ID so the image next to the quote can be linked to the post.

Yes - e.g. you can go to http://www.edugeek.net/forums/showthread.php?p=142428 to go to that particular post instead of http://www.edugeek.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14030 for the whole thread (notice the p= / t= difference post/thread)

bbC exploitation is handled internally by the board software.

Also the [post] and [thread] bbCode can prove useful.

Ah... ok... that makes a little more sense I suppose... Interesting approach *cue: bemused look*
