CEOP Report Abuse Button

Does anyone have the HTML code for the CEOP report abuse button please?

You will need to contact them asking permision to use the button first. Like I just did :)

I seconf what PEO says, we have the button on our student intranet and once clicked simply open the page with the form.

if you email education@ceop.gov.uk they normally reply within 24 hours

yep I did that they send you a terms of conditions, you then reply back to say you agree, they then send you the button, and you then have to send a screen shot of the button on your website for their records.

Why don't we do child protection, with a zero abuse button strategy, why can't we rid the internet of CEOP buttons, make it safer for kids?

Every CEOP button is making the net more dangerous.

The CEOP button sends the details to CEOP - who are a branch of SOCA (Serious and Organised Crime Agency), who have police powers.
I sent them info a year or 2 ago (relatively minor but still worth investigating), and I was contacted by the local police a month or so later saying they'd tracked the person down and officers would be going to have a word with them.

So I reckon it works, and I think a button to pass details onto the police/FBI/whatever is a good idea - not many websites take that much action, and jail is a much better deterrent than the sanctions a company has at it's disposal.

Quig seems very frustrated by the existance of CEOP, as Powdarrmonkey said "You can't back up any of your facts" and as you say "
If we are going to be personal about it, it doesn't take a GCSE in counter-espionage to notice that nowhere in the world are there arrests reported in the media because of the cleverness or pro-activeness of CEOP." and further comments like "And we know why dont we?"

Do we know why?

Does CEOP achieve anything?

Does CEOP rip tax payers off?

In my humble opinion I beleive CEOP to be a good thing.

Thread closed until it can be split off by a mod or an admin (the iPhone is *not* good for admin work on posts or threads)
