Aye, Got a dev account and been playing with the waters. But just seems so much hassle to do something that is so easy in other languages Yet to mention the hassle of publishing apps.

Meaning to get back to it when I get time, but not had a chance yet

I plan, soonish, to buy a Mac Mini for development, but only as I need an app that accesses the camera - in general I'd prefer to devlop web-based applications. I do plan to look at iBook, too, so see how easy it makes the process of publishing snazzy interactive content.

ObjectiveC is pretty awful in my mind as a language tbh which is one of the biggest hurdles I had. Also I dont particularly like xcode as an IDE over VS but thats probably out of habbit. Version 4 of xcode was so much better then v3.

If you aren't really all that interested in learning Objective C and Xcode. I would recommend appcelerator.com it compiles Javascript into Xcode, Android and Blackberry projects. We used it to create Heart of England's Mobile Prospectus.

Can't comment on how easy appcelerator is, but I can highly recommend PhoneGap - super easy and quick to knock up an 'applike' site.

I beleive phonegap also allows access to the phonse native functions... (such as camera)
