Oh, I'm always ready to help - just don't lie about who you are or your intentions, Aubrey.

Can we stop the mud-slinging now?

If you want to write something yourself in VB, you need to investigate sockets (I'm not going to spell it out for you, go have a hunt around).

Thanks tech_guy, I supose so. But then again it doesnt really matter about who I am, I was asking for help and all I need is help, not to be told who I am when I fully know who I am.

Erm, yes it does. You actively want us to undermine the very work we do for our day to day job!
Whilst I have no doubt that our members would be very helpful had you just come out with an honest question please do not think that they will not get suspicious. Many of us here are security experts and can flag a suspect question and dig a little very easily.
Telling us that you are as qualified and experienced as the rest of us after the work and effort we have to put in to get to our various positions does raise the hackles somewhat.

Yet you pretend to be someone you're not.

If I was - to stretch a point - to go on a chemistry forum and claim that I had forgotten how to make a bomb out of various easily obtainable compounds and only needed to know for a quick essay on the theory, I would certainly hope that questions would be asked even though I "needed help".

You sound like Robert Downey Jr. in "Tropic Thunder" .
