Google apps for Education, how to archive old accounts ?

So it's that time of year, how is everyone archiving leavers Google accounts ? The thought of going into each and every one and doing this https://support.google.com/accounts/.../3024190?hl=en doesn't really appeal.

When you delete accounts you get the option to transfer ownership, we usually transfer ownership to line managers. You could also look at Google Vault

If you have your users in year level Organisational Units you can just go to the relevant OU and suspend users. Keep them suspend for a while (its all free, so doesn't matter) then delete them after a while.

Be aware that I think if you delete a user then their Google Vault data is also removed. So for teachers where you may want access to archived emails in Vault for some years its much better to move them to a "old teachers" OU and suspend their accounts.

I have leaver OU's that I put student accounts in, so that should work, for staff I may just download all data for offline purposes - we don't use vault here but I'm going to suggest we do.

    Cheers

I wish there was a better way of sorting and filtering the accounts in the Management Console, for example, sorting by account name/ID. I'm sure you can do it with the API, but some things should just be simpler by not having to write a script.
