Hi, Following on from another post about device security I have decided to lock things down a bit for our Google Apps users. We have some Android tablets that have been set up by me and handed out to the classes but also some staff access Gmail etc using their own phones or tablets. If a tablet or phone gets stolen I want to make sure we can block / remote wipe the device.
On the device management page in GAFE there are two settings that could have knock on effects especially for personal devices.
1. General settings\Enforce policies on Android devices.
2. Advanced settings\Enable Device Activation.
What effects would turning these on have with staff who are using their own devices.
Why do you get a choice to enable device activation, surely they need to be activated to do number 1 (enforce policies)
Any advice would be helpful.
