    App inventor 2

    Hi everyone

Please can someone help. We are trying out app inventor 2 which is a cloud server with ai starter which is installed on the windows 7 client and its not starting the emulator from ai starter. Ai starter has benn started and it passes the connection test on the mit site.

Please can someone send me a list of what you had to do to get this to work and any exceptions you put in your firewall.

Thanks for all your help richard

    Hey, according to this page:

Troubleshooting for App Inventor 2 | Explore MIT App Inventor

    It says to try:

"Make sure your firewall is permitting connections to http://dl.qyv.meExternal Links icon. That is where the new version of the Companion is being downloaded from. The Companion can't update if that address is being blocked."

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

I had a problem with this at my last school, it ended up being that we had installed app inventor 1 then tried using app inventor 2 when it was released. We had to uninstall ai 1 and delete any associated files, then install ai 2 to get it to work

Sorry I'm guessing the above address shouldn't be http://dl.qyv.meExternal but http://dl.qyv.me/External - try that.

We have just installed it in 1 suite so I'll try and get back when we have managed to install the locked down Google Chrome (doesn't support IE apparently...)

    Cheers.
