    Office 365 Email Migration

    Hi Everyone

    Im currently testing migrating an email account on exchange 2007 to Office 365 and im getting the error:

    "A valid primary email address email@school.lea.sch.uk couldn't be found on the target."

    Ive done the outlook anywhere tests using the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyser and tests all pass except the last step of The HTTP authentication for NTLM. Basic will work just not NTLM.

    Does Office 365 need to use NTLM for transfering mail boxes? If so is that the reason why i get the above error when migrating and what do i need to do resolve it?

    Do you mean you are migrating mailboxes? I think you need to create the email account on O365 before you can migrate to it.

    This is what the the issue was along with setting the account as the onmicrosoft.com domain. Also with a staged migration, should it do an incremental sync every 24 hours?

    Hi,

    did you ever get the NTLM bit sorted for the migration? im having almost the same issue and the tester fails at that point basic found but cant access ntlm

    If i remember, i kept it on basic as the exchange server was set to basic. If you want to use NTLM then the Exchange server has to be set to NTLM also. I will check this though.
