Our users not very keen on the 'new' Office 365 upgrade!! :(

We upgraded from Live@Edu a few months ago and the new Office 365 has been well received by staff and students.

However, MS have just 'upgraded' our Office 365 again to the latest version and its horrible!!!

Users are complaining and nobody likes the 'new look'....its hard to read and just looks awful...!

It now looks more like Outlook online (the version which replaced Hotmail) and I have to say that we are not impressed.

    Why do Microsoft do this???

    Unhappy.

    Andrew

No technical problems, just the look and feel of the latest version is not good, in my opinion!

I suppose we will get used to it in due course.....

All our staff connect to it via Outlook 2010, so the look and feel is always consistent. Not heard feedback if the students don't like it, but not that bothered in that regard.

We held back on the upgrade until this week or next for our students. Not looking forward to it to be fair. Not sure how the students will react to it.

Scratch that; we've just had several pupils who can't view their emails once they've signed in on IE. Oh the ironing.

The whole Office 365 service has been terrible for us today, despite me saying we'd had no technical problems!

Slow, glitchy and very annoying for users!

    Anyone else having problems today??

No problems reported by any users today with us and it all seems to be working fine.

The new Outlook Web App is very resource intensive so if you are accessing it from older machines you will notice significate performance issues. Just being signed in and composing a message can take up 250 - 300MB on its own. One option is for users to enable the light version of the app.

Certainly wouldn't recommend users on older hardware keeping the web app open all day it will chew through ram in IE and eventually die.

Same as outlook.com for Hotmail had no end of issues with that since it was changed.

Just been informed by some users that in the 'new' version of Office 365/Exchange Online they can no longer add or save multiple attachments to emails.

So, if they receive an email with several attachments they have to save them one-by-one or if they want to add multiple attachments to an outbound email they have to do them one-by-one and the usual Ctrl or Shift key methods no longer work!!!!

    WTF????

Come on Microsoft, what are you playing at????

This isn't the case; just tested selecting three documents and attaching in one go. Worked just fine. I can select multiple files using Ctrl or Shift.

The new OWA experience, whether you like the more modern interface or not (and that's entirely subjective), does bring some pretty neat enhancements that people have asked for.
