Just got mine, ICT Technician - RT1A
Just got mine, ICT Technician - RT1A
Just got my family and grade:
Network Manger - RT4S
Haven't a bloody clue. But all I do know is that a person who is on £4,000 less than me at the moment has a grade of BS5S, which I'm assuming is higher???
Friday afternoon - so no-one to talk to about it - GREAT!!!!!
The pay families are not equal so a BS5S could be the equivalent of at RT1A. Remember they only have to give the pay after you have any chance of appeal.
Still no letters here......
No letter here and we're not getting them either! Governors voted unanimously to not adopt the scheme! Some very happy support staff here.
If you are a foundation school you can. Expect it will cause moans from county but the top brass seem happy to fight it. Hopefully we will be going academy as well but the rejection of single status is a separate issue for us. I think several schools in our area are planning or have passed the same resolution at governors.
Had my letter. Organisational support and role of principal specialist technician. OS4a.

Thats right, no idea on pay at all.
We have to agree with the Job Profile, or appeal within 3 weeks, without knowing what the pay will be, as we are appealing against the profile NOT the pay.
We seem to be going down a similar route. We've got a meeting later on this week for an update, but a letter today said that we won't find out what family we are in until the pay scales are released and at that point the Governors are likely to decide whether they fit with what they think or whether to adjust accordingly.
What was your original job title? I looked at all the job families and ICT could fit into two if not three families. How can you appeal if you think you are in the wrong family because is a OS4A higher/lower than a RT2A - who knows????. My Senior Technician is on a RT2A whatever that will be. How can the roles (I'm assuming they are the same) be indifferent families and job profiles?
After the appeals process and we find out that a RTA is higher than a OS4A - can we appeal afer the grades have come out??? There are so many questions that need to be answered AFTER the grades - it's so unfair!!!!!
"So far then - grades of RT1A, RT4S and OS4a but no idea of cash/scales at all? "
And a RT2A
The whole thing is a joke - looking at other LAs they have IT Manager, NM, IT Tech in the same bracket and all of those posts in 3 or 4 places. To ask you to accept something then tell you what the pay is has to be nonsense! I think staff need to be very vocal about this with SLT as from the discussions we had here some clearly don't know or understand the implications - one head we talked to said "what's single status then" - never even heard of it!
I'm a ICT Services Administrator and been givlen Operations 4a. I've been told that other ICT Technicians down in south Cumbria have been given Ops 5a but in a smaller school. Other people have been put into reg & tech with the same job title so the system is obviously useless and an absolute waste of time as there is no consistency within job roles and families.

I have just looked at a rather interesting spreadsheet which highlites all the jobs, their scores and what grades they are to receive in ther County. The ICT Managers range from RT4S through to RT6S and they also live in Orgonisation Support on OS4S. The categories for the points are: Knowledge, Process, relationship, Tangible, Mental demands and physical. Each one is graded out of 10. How can a VLE-co-ordinator have a 5 for physical demands and my Technician receive a 2????????
The WHOLE system is flawed. I thought this process was there to iron out anomolies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
