I've heard a rumour that if a member of staff gets regraded at a lower rate than the school can make up the pay difference if they choose to. Has anyone else heard this?
I think there is a real chance of there being a loss of some highly skilled staff if county drops peoples pay too much. Trouble is that we have no way of knowing quite whats going to happen to us. Maybe we're going to be royaly done over, but maybe we're worrying too much and its not going to be as bad as we think.
I hate all this uncertainty about whats going on.
Precisely. That's why there is so much speculation!
I suppose we will know what grade we are initially put into by the end of this month.
Foundation schools will at least be able to choose not to follow the countys system, but they will still have to do something similar to make sure they are within the requirements for equality. If they do their own thing I would think it would allow them to be much more accurate on job descriptions and avoid alot of this generic rubbish.
What I would like to know is what is going on with the national standardisation program that was supposed to either tie together or supercede all the local programs. Ive not heard anything about it in quite a while. Is it still going ahead or is it one of these things the government has changed again?
Govt. has cut the support staff review body as part of it austertiy measures.
Here in Nottinghamshire we've just had a letter saying the new scales will be in place April 2011. The IT roles had 4 levels but as yet no idea which level gets which pay scale. I'm currently on SO1 and agreed with the head to be in the top profile but if that profile is matched to a lower grade then what's the point of appealing?
Well I got my letter today and apparantly I am OS4A what ever that means. Strangley my network technician is on the same :/
Dont see how that works, so going to go and ask my head what thats all about.

We're still waiting...
Some of the primary schools about us have had letters, but were still waiting. Was told by our business manager that they were in the post.
Apparantly the letters came in late on yesterday. Id be very greatfull to hear what other people have been allocated once anyone else gets their letters so as to get a better picture of how things stand.
Well I just had a meeting with my head and it would seem he has miss graded my original job description at the start of the process, so no doubt my assigned profile will be wrong. Hes going to try to phone up county to try and sort things out.
