Can't complain compared to what we used to get.
That's quite a lot for a 100/100 on Virgin. FYI we've done quite a few on Virgin back hauling to our network for under £8kpa

@SchoolsBroadband When we spoke to you about it you wanted £14k from us, that's why we went for Virgin direct.

Oh well, never mind, it does what we want it to do.

@dezt such a shame. We are a lot cheaper now than we were as we have some new interconnects and also new pricing from our carriers.

We'll always do a price match on a genuine like for like quote from any supplier too.

    Enjoy your Virgin line!

    Cheers

    Dave

We just signed up with virgin with 200mb & adsl failover backup line for £12k a year on 3 year deal. Thus was direct with them. Now just need to get all correct info off one connect what a pain that is

that's good for a 200mb line, I realized i got the price a bit wrong for our 100mb line, the line costs £7,200 per year and the firewall costs £2,800 per year.

What info? and Would be nice to have something constant, although we are now getting low 90s download and approx mid 40s upload.

We have a lancs.sch.uk dfes style DNS name & want to keep it. It has been a hassle trying to get a copy of our DNS zone & also get the ip DNS tag released to Virgin media. We have now managed this but what a hassle trying to get all info I needed as could not call anyone plus all old IT has been one connected!

I have now also found out that county have not altered their routing for email to us so any lancs school who is sending us mail it having it bounced. Nice of them to let me know we had to request an extra change.
One connect has now got so impersonal and even less flexible for schools than before.

When we moved our emails in-house, it took a bit of planning but it was a ok transfer. But getting our old emails was a joke, they physically dropped the DVDs off for me to import the PST files.

Recently we had an email delayed going to another school, and their reply was that they had recently moved to Virgin Media and hadn't told them their emails had changed. So they had 75 emails being held on the OCL servers for them.

Same as a different school, I was unable to email them when they moved to Office 365.

Seems to a slow process to migrate.

Interesting bits in here, so if you do leave OCL for Broadband you need to

    a. Give notice
    b. swap DNS Tag to new ISP
    c. Change MX record? - would this not be swapped over with the nameservers/zone transfer
    d. why would mail still be hitting county hall?
