Just done a speedtest.net test when my office 365 and outlook connection went down. Interesting results.

Just had CLEO on the phone (yeah these guys still exist :-p) well just preformed a test using jpref and the results were pretty good, the connection to CLEO from my school was 92mb but when on speedtest only 60mb. So it has to be the proxy servers at fault and not the internet connection itself.

Could also be that their pipe to the internet is contended with other schools, so whilst you're paying for 100Mb you only see half that.

I had exactly the same talk with them, With a direct connection to CLEO I got 80mb with the worst at 68mb, and when we went back behind TMG the results were between 45mb and 49mb.

But they are planning to swap the Switch with a newer model, but to keep reporting the speed.

Hard to tell without the proxy farm being under normal term time load.

Ahhhhhh, the joys of having kicked them into touch 5yrs ago... I think we were the first to jump ship, and each and every one that leaves makes it less and less viable for them

We're having the new line finalised tomorrow, can't wait to check speedtest when it's all configured. We've gone with a 100mb line direct from virgin media.

@darrenmcginnis it is 100mb/100mb, we have paid 10K for it per year on a 3 year contract. Here's our most recent speedtest result.

Can't complain compared to what we used to get.
