    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 GPU

Due to being unable to afford a full system overhaul, I'm looking to add a second GPU to boost performance for a bit longer. If anyone has one for sale, please PM me.

Any reason it's that card in particular? If you're doubling up for SLI then fine, but for the price of a used 280 you could probably pick up a newer midrange card (a GTX560 for example) which will be just as fast but add extra shiny bits like HDMI and DirectX 11.

It was to SLI them. However I will have a scan and check them out.

Ideally, it's my CPU that could do with an upgrade (Duel core AMD @ 2.6GHz) , but it's the fastest my mobo can support so would mean that needed upgrading too, then the memory as well. Which may as well be a whole new system.

A new GPU will get you more performance in games, but a new CPU will get you more performance everywhere.
Have a look at this article. It's a bit old, but not a huge amount has changed and it shows that even a modern budget dual core is quick enough for most of us.

There are also a number of issues with SLI depending what games you play and whether or not Nvidia has deemed your favourite game worthy of a profile in the drivers. Sometimes you get almost double the framerate with two cards, and sometimes you actually take a performance hit... Whacky stuff.

Thanks for the info. Interesting read.

Been having a look at Cyber Power System's website at some of their pre-build setups and they have some nice PC's there for a good price. Think I may have to look at selling mine and upgrade that way.

You should really get an identical card with identical firmware otherwise you can have problems if using SLI

Thanks for the head's up. Think I may forget SLI then and look into a more affordable upgrade later in the year then.
