The future of a £25m school which opened on Merseyside less than two years ago is to be discussed at a meeting later.

Christ the King Centre for Learning opened in Huyton in 2009 as part of the government's Building Schools For the Future scheme.

It was hailed as a new kind of school with open-plan classrooms and new ways of teaching.

Knowsley Council has said it may have to close due to surplus places.
