I'm sure that we all say good luck and "Don't be a stranger" we are all waiting to hear from the "inside"

Just you let you know guys. I am still working for RM, it is not so bad. Being TUPEd is hard if you refuse to adap but the changes were not so bad. I think it will all depend on what kind of boss you get.

Glad to hear it's working out. I often wonder what's happening in the BSF world now BSF has been scrapped.

The fun in BSF Schools only came after BSF was cancelled

I have worked in my school for the past 8 years. We are one of the last "lucky" enough BSF sample schools to scrape through and get the funding for a brand new school and ICT investment. One of the differences with the BSF in our Local Authority was that the building procurement and IT procurement were separated. It was done this way so that we could get the "best" constructor and "best" IT provider. After the announcement by the government to scrap BSF, not all schools in our LA got funding. In the end only the two sample schools ended up with the funding. Also, because the government scrapped BSF, the mandatory managed IT service also went.

So after all of that, we are going live on the 16th April after more than 3 years of planning, preparation, build and implementation. Its been alot of work especially in the last 6 months. We ended up with Laing O'Rourke building the new school and RM providing the IT.

I'll update this thread soon with the tales of how a non IT managed BSF school operates! There will just be the three of us supporting a vast amount of kit that is currently being installed throughout the building.

    Regards,
    David
