It is indeed a nice read, but well, being part of the Newham BSF myself, I suppose we'll just have to accept it's happening and take it on the chin.

Journalists and Technicians like us can complain and criticise all we like, but the simple fact of the matter is, the top hats signing the contracts only care about the money and when it all goes pear shaped, they'll take a nice payoff and leave the mess to be cleaned up by another muppet at the top!

More can be found here. Including a quote from a Tony Sheppard?

I am optimistic about some aspects of BSF and will do what I can to ensure that support staff in schools have their chance to make a difference. But the realists out there know that we need to see the successes and mistakes from the first few waves before it will be fixed, by which point hundreds of professionals will have left schools to work in the private sector and skills will be lost from schools.

Think all the quotes are from EduGeekers... had a mild heartattack when I opened the print version to see a double-page spread of it with my name on it as well! Nice to get some exposure to the issues.

Yes ... a large number of the quotes are from EduGeekers, they used a thread on EG where further discussion took place, but then failed to include that EG contributed directly or indirectly.

I don't mind my quote being used ... but I am now going to ask them to change the attribution to include a reference to here.

Perhaps she thought she was living in a place like New York, New York or perhaps Singapore, Singapore?
