I have read allsorts of articles realting to BSF and school computers but dont really see/know much about staff laptops. I have heard that BSF will only take on board any computers that are still under warranty at that time (please correct me on ths if you know/heard different)
What i want to know is what abouts staff laptops. I know at some schools not all staff are lucky enough to have a staff laptop. At our school we have over 140 staff with laptops issued by the school, even LSA's get one here.
So what happend to these? Does the same ploicy apply or does it come inder a different umbrella?
It shouldn't make any difference.
Hopefully, the LEP / LA / School, should be able to state whether they want existing laptops to be support or not.
They should also be able to state whether they want laptops provided for all (relevant) staff.
I would also hope the new BSF scheme would replace laptops at the same rate, but I guess it will come down to how good the schools/LA BSF co-ordinators are.
You should really have someone at the school who will be responsible for the BSF process, and it would be best to give them a list of all the issues that you can raise.
