    Application Virtulisation

Is anybody out there using this ?

I'm hoping to have a play this summer as "sandboxing" seems a way to remove some of the headaches in software deployment...

Ive had a look at the following

http://www.thinstall.com/ - very easy to use and will save user data to locations you specify (i.e. h: drive). Intel Landesk use this product

http://www.altiris.com/Products/Soft...nSolution.aspx SVS from Altris, now also includes App Stream

http://www.softricity.com/ - MS software, costs as needs Desktop SA to be able to buy it

I can do this with Citrix. It's called Application Streaming.

The Microsoft softgrid doesn't cost a lot of money (less than £1 per CAL on Campus) and looks pretty good.

Do you know how much the Citrix Application Streaming costs?

Well you need Presentation Server Enterprise Edition (I have Platinum) + MS Terminal Server + Citrix CALs + TS CALs.

So I expect, it's only worth while if you have a thin client infrastructure anyway.
