I know that Becta is dead!
But my company is sending me on FITS training next week,
is there any point? is FITS dead too?
as FITS is based on/around ITIL I would suggest ITIL would be a better option.

Yes because the FITS foundation was spun out of BECTA so is alive and well.
Ben

True but as pointed out FITS is still very much alive as well.
Thanks.
Ben

The FITS Foundation is alive and well, and have a number of training companies delivering training at the moment, ranging from our friends at NEOS IT through to RM and XMA.
If you want to talk to anyone who has been on the training I am happy to put you in touch with a few folk, we have 7 of us accredited to manager level in Northants now (2 at the LA, 1 in an Academies group and 4 in schools)
I had planned to go on the course with XMA next week, but was canceled due to lack of numbers. I think the cost does put a lot of people / schools off.

Thats interesting as I am on course next week at xma and still going (just speaking to them this morning). Maybe was a second class and not enough to fill the second class.

Fits....Rest in Peace?
just resting up after a very busy week. Trevor Greenfield's in Australia for the Fits launch and Steve Butler's feet haven't touched the ground in his absence. September and October courses are filling up and when I rang around our training partners yesterday the mood was positive and enthusiastic. No doubt there are some challenges ahead but the fact that the Fits courses were designed specifically to meet the needs of schools and that costs are relatively low will, I think, ensure their continued popularity in schools.

I'm trying to dig out the article where I saw it but I was reading that OGC are doing no further work on ITIL.
Can someone point me in the right direction here....I have been all over the fits website but cant seem to find anywhere how you sign up for the courses. Am I missing a trick?
