NOR 816 pupils, 70 staff, 194 PCs/25 laptops running M$ XP Pro/W2K, 3 servers (W2K3), Curr & Admin networks, 8 switches, 3 WAPs, all the usual s/w, c45 IWBs, a myriad of different printers, and all of the other peripherals you'd expect.

Somebody produce graphs!
I wonder which is a more significant drain on resources: the number of users or the number of PCs. I usually assume a laptop costs about twice as much time as a desktop unless it's living in a cupboard 364 days a year.
Think I've come across this thread pretty late....but interesting stuff!
Here:
1250 students
150 teaching staff
90 Iwb's & projectors

Projector and IWB in every teaching room
1 network manager and 2 technicians - we do have a 6th former that helps us out though
Further education college
1,900 PC's, 400 full-time staff (+ many part time)
7,000+ students (inc. part-time)
current PC/tech support ratio (inc. devs. and managers)

In my current job, we have:
- 1130 students give or take a few, high school so Grades 8-12, or Forms 2-6 in UK style.
- 75 staff, some part time
- About 170 computers
- 40 odd Smartboards and projectors
- Floating laptop and projector
- My colleague and I as full time network admins
- 1 teacher above us who is in general charge of IT
We are getting towards the point where we can be proactive instead of reactive, though not quite there yet. The network we inherited was in a shocking state, unmanaged switches, no diagrams, no documentation etc...
We did a major overhaul in December which is helping us to move forward now.
Sometime I feel that things are moving so fast that we need a 3rd team member to help out with things until we have managed to automate more processeses.
Our students are between 12 and 18 y/o. We have 820 students, about 80 staff.
We have 130 workstations, 10 servers (W2k3, Exchange, IIS, etc. etc.)
I'm the only technical person in the school, so I also 'do everything with a plug'.
10 sites
10,000+ users
5000 pc's
600 laptops
20 servers (+around 25 virtual)
1 network manager, 1 desktop manager and 6 techs
