Time for a progress report. I have decided on the RokSlideshow module from Rocket Theme for the sites rotating flash banner. J1.5 native with lots of options to customise. One of the main reasons I have chosen this module it is the fact you can set different popup captions for each image.

As for an image gallery option I really wanted to use greybox as I feel it offers the best navigation option for viewing images within a lightbox. The only problem is the plugins that offer this feature are all commercial. So I have hard coded greybox into the site template. It means a bit more work when adding images for a gallery, will need to create thumbnails and add some extra html but will be worth it to have the greybox navigation.

In my search for a gallery I came across highslide. This has some great options for viewing images so have also added this to the template for eye candy pop-ups for individual images.

Going to stay with the default WYSIWYG editor for the moment. I will be the only person updating the site and with the way media manager works in J1.5 I think I can do without JCE Editor for the time being.
