Hello,
Has anyone here migrated from Zimbra to LiveEdu?
If so how easy it was it to get Link2ICT to provide changes to your records, and did migrating current email accounts involve downloading into a PST, and then uploading into the new account.
I'm using LiveEdu myself as a test school, and I'm finding it harder each day to go back to the Zimbra web interface - especially connecting calendars to Outlook!

I'm unsure on the migration side but changing to use Live@edu is straight forward. Just submit an RFC with the DNS record that needs creating (which is unique to each site) and then once M$ have confirmed the domain, just advise Link2ICT of the MX record change.
A few schools have gone over from Zimbra with no problems.

The IMAP ports are blocked due to load balancing. I know it's not ideal but if you log a call, they will allow a limited number of accounts at a time to be IMAP enabled so you can migrate. Watch the KB over the next day or so for full details of what to do (From the Link2ICT side of things that is)

1st April 2011, 04:52 PM #5 Just working through this and so far we have done the following:
Setup the first test domain with Live@Edu using a subdomain (live.school.bham.sch.uk) and link2ICt happily added the DNS for us.
Now we are happy to make the system live we need to do the following
- Complete the Migration to External Email Provider form (2 pages)
- Complete the Code of Connection form (24 pages)
- Send Link2ICT the DNS and MX records needed
- Enable iMap for all the accounts you would like to transfer the data from. This is currently limited to only 5 accounts at a time
- Assign a date to move the emails across
- Add the Autodiscover in to your DNS
- Hope and Pray
Will let you know how we get on with this.

5th April 2011, 02:55 PM #6 Update: Apparently it is impossible to enable iMap for the users accounts at all, so at this moment in time I can't see how I cam going to migrate the users from Zimbra over to Live@Edu. If anyone can think of a workaround I would really appreciate it.

Depends how many accounts you got to move? Luckily I had about 10 accounts,
So i manually did the simple accounts which had 1 inbox only and no sub folders via pop
And accounts which had subfolders using imap enabled account from laptop at home.
I just imported live & zimbra imap accounts into outlook/thunderbird and dragged and dropped
from zimbra to live.
