Scope: Proxy Server Change

Date and Time: Sunday 18th May 2014, 10am - 8pm

You may be aware of the global issues surrounding the Heartbleed Bug. The Heartbleed Bug allows normally protected and encrypted information to be read such as web, email, instant messaging, passwords and some virtual private networks. For more information on the impact of Heartbleed Bug please visit Heartbleed Bug.

As a means of decreasing vulnerability and protecting the network as used by schools, libraries and Birmingham citizens that use Adult Ed facilities, we will need to deploy a series of changes to existing proxy servers. For Schools, this will take place on Sunday 18th May 2014, 10am – 8pm.

We do not anticipate any service outages during this time however please be mindful if service appears intermittent.

Please rest assured we are doing all we can to ensure the protection of the network and your information.

As always, if you have any questions please contact the Link2ICT Service Desk on 0121 303 5100 – or log into the Link2ICT Support Portal.
