It's painful, but it has been worse. Save all your energy for next Wednesday. As far as I'm concerned, the upgrade performed over Easter was supposed to resolve a lot of issues, but there are still problems - no doubt about that. Roll on May Half-Term then?

- Rep Power
Just ditch em - don't make excuses about it being impossible, it simply isn't. Tackle each service one at a time then flick the switch.
If you are in charge of your schools ICT you have an obligation to do something about something that has such a massive negative effect on T&L.
There are plenty of people here happy to help your migration - suppliers, other schools (myself included) so take them up on it.
The fact it has been so terrible recently will make your job of getting what you need from a finance POV easier surely?
Honestly not flaming, I just think schools deserve way better than L2ICT and I want you to realise its easier to move than you think!
Happy to help anyone - just PM me.

Just a quick one, is everyone still experiencing slow internet? or is it just me?
15th May 2014, 07:43 PM #55
Still intermittent at one site and slow 0.2mbps was the worst this afternoon for 20 minutes and it's taken a dislike to purple mash and education city resources....

Yes it is still dipping, but lately VPN out of hours is becoming unusable at times. For years it's been solid.
The existing Cisco Firewall solution might have been old and basic in features, but at least it worked...

Has everyone's issues been fixed or are they still on going?
11th June 2014, 11:47 AM #58
Issues are still on-going. At times it works well and other times speed still drops considerably.

this is a video of the test I did a couple of days ago, I'm plug in directly into the Cisco 3550, running a speed test speedtest.bgfl.eu as the test server is inside the BGFL network and not going via Proxy.
The Work station on the left is going via proxy and going through another switch.
Is this what everyone else is experiencing?
I'm going insane and I'm paranoid if its my network with a fault on.

So I take it you're on a 100Mbps WAN, seeing as you achieved a 30 something upload and 2Mbps download?
