It'll be difficult as we were sat in groups on different tables. There was a table for Firewall, web filtering, web based services and subscriptions.

Amanda said a summary will be sent out including points that were raised.

I'm sure others may be able to tell you questions they asked and the answer they got.

    I was there.
Thought it was very good and I'm still trying to figure out what Andys screen name is.
Looking forward to seeing the official report from Amanda and the exact time scales of when things are going to be delivered. Hoping I make the cut for the 10 trial schools for the new filtering as well.

    Taa daa,

At last we had a meeting with Link2ict that does not involve the dreaded sales pitch.. @Little-Miss i knew who you were from the point go,
    as for anyone else,
err no apart from the Account Managers and a couple of engineers from Link.
Overall it was a productive feedback session points from both sides have been aired and taken on board,as was mentioned we should be at the front of all communications as we are the bods sorting out the challenges/problems..
Now that we an have an idea of what to expect the next time we will hopefully have some more productive ideas/pointers to voice..

    I hope that's a good thing... :P

To be fair, it wouldn't have been particularly hard to deduce.

    Did we say hi?!

I realised the night before that i hadn't actually registered for the thing so did it quite late. When i turned up there wasn't a badge for me and they did wonder whether i was actually coming! haha

I do feel guilty, I sort of monopolised my groups discussion on the web filtering table and unfortunately didn't really get clear answers. At one point the question was raised about responsibility of MIS uploads if you leave Link and even they are in the dark as to where our responsibility ends and theirs begins.

Unfortunately I was unable to go, probably a bonus to L2ICT as I have several axes to grind right now. Was there a dart board up with my picture on?

What was said re: speed of replies to requests, orders and what not? Its slightly improved in some areas while the tech support has nose dived in the last week or so!

There are one or two that appear on here on occassions. They keep themselves hidden but they do take note of what is said. It's not that easy to influence those around them though.

I had to miss yesterdays gathering due to work committments and a long awaited dental appointment. Can anyone who went give a brief write up on what was said?

General opinion of my group that communication was the major issue. Lack of notice about projects and the difficulty in getting calls escalated to the relevant people were reoccurring themes during all of the discussions I was in.

Similar in our group, communication to the relevant staff at school is a huge issue for Link2ICT, think every session mentioned it at some point. The frustrating point was that they had a few good ideas that would be of huge benefit to school (transparent proxies, improved switches, improved PCE,) but time-scales, costs and definitive dates where lacking.

On the face of it all the Link staff accepted the criticisms we levelled at them and they're was a general acceptance that it had to be better. It's just a question of when.

That sums up L2ICT right there....

Good ideas and intentions that never come in to fruition or are delayed and/or crippled!
