BETT 2013 - Leavers and Joiners
I've been doing what I do every year ... looking the the show guide for this year and comparing it to last year. Usually I do it to see if there are any folk who have moved to a new location or who have had mergers / name changes / etc ... and this tends to be fairly easy when you are comparing the 2 maps ... except this year they show plans are completely different. Someone would think it is a new venue! ;-)
Instead, this year I am going through the show guide for last year and making a note of exhibitors that aren't appearing this year, or who are new and weren't there previously.
It is taking some time to manually go through but I will stick up those folk who are missing first to see if anyone knows if they are still there but partnered with someone else, or if there is another reason why they are not attending (eg attending a different show instead or concentrating on using the money for other things ... like making things work or reducing the cost of the kit for the customer ... or they have simply gone under!)
I've just finished A-C and found a few interesting things ...
I can't find the following this time round:
Guroo (14-19 functional skills resources)
2Touch Interactive Whiteboards
3D Systems Corporation (3D printers)
Ablenet (SEN bespoke specialists)
Academia (software reseller)
The Adventure Learning Company
Allied Technical Services
AMX UK (tech integration specialists)
Artech Academy (Online Learning)
ASCL (Not sure if they are involved with the School Leaders event instead)
Asus (they must be there somewhere ... )
Attano Media and Education (Online Learning)
Autology (though they are doing stuff with Microsoft for Windows 8 so look on the Microsoft Windows 8 stand)
Automation Studio (system and control simulation software)
AV2 Education (audio Cabinets)
B Active Brain Solutions (games based learning?)
B Squared (online assessment / testing)
Bare Conductive (Conductive paint!)
BCS (Will double check as there is a fair bit of C@S activity going on)
BEE-IT (online network / news for teachers)
Beeteg (several companies represented the British Education Engineering and Technology Export Group)
Bentham Ltd (I don't think they even turned up last year ... pretty sure H15 got used for seating)
BIBIS IT Solutions (BADGY ID Card printers)
Big Green Book (a membership group of environmentally friendly companies)
Biostore (ID management)
Blue Duck Education (Manga High games distributor)
Boxford (seriously ... a major CAD/CAM player is missing?)
British Dyslexia Association
Coexist Foundation / Microbooks Limited
Collabco (SharePoint specialists)
Condor Office Solutions
CTouch Interactive Touch Displays
Curriculum Visions (online learning resources)
A few big names in there ... and I have left a few smaller ones out as they are firms from overseas who tried their hand for a year at BETT.
Another big name not there this year is AndertonTiger Radio ...
Russell Prue has been speaking at BETT since 1985 in various guises, but this year he has a well-earned break. The BETT Radio will be run by learners themselves this year as part of the Heppell.net Learn Together zone.
If you have any news on any of the above please let me know ... and if I have erroneously said someone is not exhibiting then let me know.
I'll crack on with the others over the weekend (unless anyone else wants to take over checking a few).
BETT 2013 - Leavers and Joiners
This sounds like a plan. I'm sure some stand will have an appropriate toy we can use :)
