BETT - Best freebies you have ever received?

    Hello all,

In our offices BETT is well under way and one of my upcoming tasks is sorting out some freebies/giveaways..which got me wondering what are the best/worst you have received from shows that you have attended in the past?

(i am sneakily looking for some inspiration from the masses here )

Memory sticks are always useful, mugs are good.

Best freebie though was a nice fleece!

    haha @plexer you never know

I need to make a decision soon about prizes as well...we may we may look at giving some free Ruckus APs for your home use each day, or going for something bigger that will be given away the following week, but there would only be one of them.

Edugeek pizza, worth its weight in gold at the show after a morning of walking around

I do need a new mug though (the sillier it looks the better!) as my one met an unfortunate end the other week

Aside from that Intel gave out some good stuff on the Stone stand a few years back - the USB desktop charger \ USB hub \ memory card reader was very handy and a clutch of USB sticks always prove useful. Novelty wise funny shaped stress balls make nice desktop ornaments, imaging having a squidgy grumpy cat on your desktop...

Mugs are good. Also I got a toolkit from the switchshop stand last year which has come in handy.

@FN-GM I remember the pick and mix from Stone, they were good. I think one of our tech guys managed to get a fair few bags during the week.
@gshaw...may be a grumpy cat shaped mug..could such a thing exist i wonder?

This is great feedback, thank you.

I won an Ipod Mini one year, that was a good freebie (especially as I then sold it on ebay for £100)

Other than that, my Edugeek Mug was amazing, the pick and mix was good....Mugs in general are the holy grail for me, pen drives an added bonus

Edugeek mug is pride of place on my desk. Mouse mats are another useful item.

Decent quality tool kit is one of the things i find so hard to find, and then get an agreement for school to pay for, so this would be most welcomed.

Probably a bit boring but this has been great. I took the first notes in a meeting 7th feb 2011 flipped over and using the backs of pages since 23rd may 2012 and still going.

The pen died yonks ago though!

Pens are good but don't stand out. Little packs of mints are good.

Memory sticks or desktop stationery will stay around the longest.

    This.

If you're going to use promotional feelies it's important to choose something that your 'targets' will keep around and use (thus keeping your company's details around too!). Anything that's quickly consumable isn't much good, but notepads, memory sticks, calendars, mugs, things like that are a good bet.

(I used to run the technical side of a web dev company, we ended up advising people on all sorts of marketing things!)
