How are you getting to Bett '08
More for the people around the Birmingham area really.
My boss and i are wanting to go down but when he costed the tickets from B'ham new street to London, it came in around £95 per ticket.
Unfortunately we cannot justify that sort of cost since we would be down there one day.
Just wondering what ticket costs were for you and if they were the same or if cheaper who you are going with.
Would really like to go. I went last time and wanted to come and say hello to you guys but the train to Olympia was late and we had some stands to visit and we also had to be back on the 2pm train back home.
So unfortunately i didn't make it to your stand.
:cry:

I always drive to London, know a tube station right off junction 4 of the M1 with secure carparking and only 2 pounds a day at weekends to park. Cheap and easy.

@ ChrisP
Hmm. How much that set you back :-)
@Quackers
I don't really fancy driving down to London. Not with the breeding of traffic cones thats going on just lately.

@plexor
How much is it by coach usually then?
Can anyone confirm the rip-off train fares?
Re: How are you getting to Bett '08
More like twenty one quid return each if you leave after ten in the morning.
Type your preferred times and dates into National Rail Enquiries - with a start of "Birmingham New Street (BHM)" and destination of "Kensington Olympia (KPA)".
It is scarey the number of fares available, and the fact the "peak" starts at three thirty in the afternoon (thus take your time, have a beer, and catch a later train ;) )
Cheers,
Martin

Birmingham to Victoria coach station is £33 for 2 people.
National express website.

I flew Leeds - Southampton back from a conference back in August, with Flybe for quite a bit cheaper than the train.
Having said that, you need to take good care looking for train tickets - they don't always make the cheap fares obvious, and bear in mind with Virgin West Coast you need to look at SINGLE fares - they don't do cheap returns, you just get two cheap singles. I did Havant to Birmingham for about £20 each way like that in the summer.
Re: How are you getting to Bett '08
Myself and 2 others will be flying down from Newcastle into Stanstead, then onto the Stanstead express to liverpool street, then onto another 2 tubes to get to olympia. Cant remember what the total costs per person is probably about £100.

@Sylv3r: Which date(s) are you going? Bossman and I are interested in going but will probably only be allowed/able to go for Saturday :cry:

Going down on the Wednesday, I thought about the Saturday but I think most stalls are in wind down mode and some even pack up on the Friday as they have had enough.
Going down with a Deputy Head and Director of e-Learning so they will still be people left to respond to ICT problems.
