    No Adobe....

I'm very disappointed that Adobe were not at BETT this year. I really wanted to give them a piece of my mind regarding their pricing policies and that joke of an announcement they made the other week.

Adobe are putting the money they spend on BETT into their education programmes instead (ie. better training for teachers etc...).

It's like Apple pulling out a couple of years back... It was worrying to see the sign on the RM stand announcing RM as Apple specialists.

I'd be concerned at RM claiming to be a specialist in anything. During most of my dealings with them they didn't even seem to understand their own products.

    Hi,

I thought I'd comment on why Adobe were not at BETT. It's a good question.

Whilst I can't disclose exactly how much BETT costs, I think you'd be quite amazed to know. We took a careful look at the benefits of the show and decided we could use the money to better effect. We're planning a couple of things:

Firstly, we're coming to you. We have 10 roadshows planned for the UK, the details of which we'll announce shortly. We are looking for school or college locations that could host us, so let us know if you're interested.

Secondly, we're working with the examination boards to map Adobe technologies onto qualifications. We already do this with the OCR Nationals and iMedia qualification, but we can do more.

Thirdly, we are investing in the Education Exchange community and our Education Leaders so that we have great practitioners who can support other educators with their experience.

I'm hoping that these are valuable things to invest in, bringing a better return than the cost of BETT. No doubt you'll all tell me differently :-)

As always I welcome feedback from the community

    regards
    Mark
