BETT 2011 Staff - Accomodation and arriving
Right, just to let all of you know what times people need... This mainly describes those arriving on Tuesday (which I think is almost everyboday bar Shaun, Tony and myself who will be attending the Learning Without Frontiers conf and won't make the hotel until Tuesday evening (about 7-7:30pm).
As Ric is doing an amazing job of organising the stand setup, he shall be arriving with John at about 2pm on the Tuesday afternoon. If those listed as being in accomodation on Tuesday evening can be at the hotel (The Novotel London West) and booked in by this time in readyness for going to Olympia to set up the stand it would be ideal. Freebies will be couriered to the hotel on Friday in readyness for taking down to the exhibition on Tuesday.
Rooms are booked in my name, however I shall let the hotel know what room bookign numbers are allocated to who and I shall let both Ric and yourselves know your booking number. Exhibitor badges are ordered but have not yet arrived.
As for eating, I have not yet ordered breakfasts but will proberbly buy vouchers for us all once there, unless there is somewhere near that works out cheaper as @£17 per breakfast I can feed 2 with a decent brekkie at Pret for that. The hotel is a mere 18 mins from Chinatown on the tube from Hammersmith station, so if you don't have an Oyster card please get one on Tuesday. Google Earth is not showing any decent eating places near the hotel, however those opposite Olympia are quite good as Ric and I ate in one in January gone (it was indeed tasty ).
Still we should (given the 10 min walk to the hotel from Olympia) be back in the hotel by 18:30 each night (apart from the exhibitors party) and ready to go out to eat by 19:30 as opposed to 20:30 with the Holiday Inn.
It hardly seems possible that BETT can creep up on us like this each year. 3 Weeks to go!! WOOT!

For those who are interested in the evening events in the Apex Room ... Wednesday will be another fantastic TEDxOrenda event, Thursday has the return of the unconference with Collabor8 4 Change and there is the usual TeachMeet on the Friday evening (the ultimate teachmeet to be honest) and details for them all are available at BETT 2011. Even if you are not interested yourself please tell any teachers you know who may be going to BETT.

The restaurants at the hotel sound nice, but no doubt quite dear. there's a gastro pub around the corner about half mile away which also does brekkie, but it's in the wrong direction. they look like they do good food. also there's a vegetarian restuarant nearby, but, not liking the sound of that too much.
we could always tube to earls court easy enough and over to gloucester road to be back by places and pubs we know

get to show for 9/9.30 ish i guess. have to ask Ric or if you can get there earlier go to hotel and dump your gear then travel in with the rest of the crew (on foot is the mode of transport this year i think)

We are on-foot from the Hotel to BETT this year, its about a 10 minute walk from Olympia to the Hotel

If you are helping on the stand, it may also be worth PMing me your phone numbers in case I need to contact you - I may become distracted by offers of free beer and the like and end up losing people!
