As some of you may have gathered, we at EduGeek are to provide the official help point at BETT 2008. This basically, gives us a stand and the function of helping out the lost souls at BETT find the facilities and resources they need.
The stand is marked up as EduGeek and we aim to provide all kinds of information including letting the unknowing find out all about EduGeek. It's quite amazing how many still can't get it in their heads that we are free!!
Anyway, we need to get the staffing levels up to speed. We have accommodation for a minimum of 4 people per pay (possibly more, it depends on how many people we actually need on the stand) from the 9th to the 12th Jan 2008.
We will give you a hotel room (Holiday Inn, Kensington), feed you and you get to meet the rest of the site staff
All we ask is that you get yourself to London and home again. If you feel you can contribute to our efforts and get to do something unusual for a couple of days then please declare your interest here. We shall pick names by the first week in December hopefully before as train tickets are very cheap if you book in advance.
I look forwards to hopefully working with some of you.

I'd have loved to, but £160 for trains/buses is beyond my pocket and my boss won't fund it or allow me to go...
Oh well.

I really enjoyed helping out last year and would love to do it again.
My situation is slightly different know so getting approval from my employer may not be as simple as before.
Does anyone know if Art, the Moodle guy will be there? I thought he was pretty cool.

If we are at BETT 2009 (fingers crossed) I hope that we can meet travel costs, but unfortunately we can't this time.

Just re-organise BETT... host it in Newcastle or somewhere, we don't mind...

Art was flown in courtesy of Sun Microsystems and MoodleRooms to help us with any Moodle demonstrations we needed to do.
This year we will be working more on specific questions people may have rather than timed demonstrations.
One of the site admins will take control each day so there may be a bidding war as to who gets to work with me (the booby prize) or the $deity himself (who probably won't be in his MeatLoaf outfit!)

This site's been extreemly helpful to me, so count me in I'd love to help out if possible. It does depend on me getting time off however.
Not too far from London either (North Kent) so travelling not a problem for me.
Also realised I've been here a while and I don't actually 'know' a single person on this site! Be a good opportunity to meet some of you!
Mike.
