Default Quality of this years conference

This being the first time i have been to bett i would like to know what people thought of it. i have my own opinion. but i have to look at it from two perspectives. I thought it was good except all the walking. and i found there were two types of stands the ones that attract naturaly (eather due to name or reputation) and then there were what i would like to call the beggers. they basicly pulled you by the short and curleys for you to look at there product. had a few of these one of which i let happen and after i got a drink and a sit down for bout five mins i then told them i was a ict tech not a teacher and we were in a primary not secondry school which is what they were aimed at. lol should have seen the look on there faces as i walked away with bottle of water and sweet lol.

Try walking around with an 'exhibitor' badge. You might as well have leprosy.

Try it with a 'consultant' badge ... you become a person they cannot sell to directly but still has a lot of power to tell schools what to buy ...

They don't know whether to get out the special chocolates or the cattle-prod.

Overall I thought it was great. Nice to put faces to the edugeek top bods, but I made some good contacts within Symantec, Microsoft, smoothwall and a few others. One day is probably not enough to see everything properly though, next year I may try to go twice.

I think you need at least 2 days to get round it fully if you want to do more than rushed browsing of the stands you know.
