Default Thanks for coming to see us!

Good evening!

I would like to thank all of you who came to visit the ebuyer stand at the bett show this year.

It was quite a rush for us, we booked the stand on monday morning and arrived on tuesday morning, so sorry for the not so expensive stand. but in the time we had we just managed to pull it off !

The main aim was to promote the public sector department and ebuyers presence in the market. i was supprised to see how many people was using us but in the wrong ways!

If anybody needs any further help from either myself, or team then please feel free to contact me.

And well done to the iPhone winners !

All the best and once again thankyou!

Hi Roy. I didn't see the Ebuyer stand, were you still there on Sautrday?

I have used Ebuyer a lot too for many years for loads of products and only had one RMA for a dodgy CPU.

Hi Roy,

In truth as a long term eBuyer who was ready to dump and run a couple of years back I'm a lot happier with the way things are nowadays... Only just heard about the public-sector and business accounts sections in the past week though so perhaps a little trawling of your customer records to pick out schools who've ordered from you in the past might be useful.

Any chance you could drop me a line on PM with some details of what you're doing now though and what exactly you're offering specific to schools though.

Must agree with Contink on this, I tried to use eBuyer for a school order nearly 4 years ago now, and was for 70 TFTs, got offered an amazing price on them ordered them, told they would be in stock in, stock came in, no TFTs did though, very bad service and support, numerous emails and phone calls and still no screens, as a result term started with 0 screens in the new IT Centre All in all we were not that happy, so stayed away since then really due to this issue but may now consider them again if you have a full on dedicated team to this now.

contink: We are currently trying to contact the 14000 public sector clients we have to make them aware of the new service, i will pm you some details.

John: im sorry to hear about past issues. the problem we had before was that we was an internet only seller, so no contact could be made without e-mailing or enoteing. things have obviously changed vastly since then.

John, I could definitely recommend them now but I definitely remember the bad old days when you got staff with a "give-a-sh**" attitude and virtually nobody willing to actually talk sense. I left them well alone for about a year and then slowly drifted back...

The past 18 months have been a lot more agreeable and the addition of a dedicated team for education sales hopefully will only improve things as I can stop having to buy stuff through a 3rd party to get the VAT claimed back (long story there) because it was all credit card sales for ages (and for all North Yorks schools using the school CC is like some kind of mystical art form!!).

Think we're up to about our 20th or so order in the past year so it's been doing ok... Nothing like 4 years ago!

I think our school used ebuyer occasionally in the past for random small items, but I've not really considered using you them for large orders, due to my personal preference for phoning and speaking to, and building up a 1 to 1 relationship, with a dedicated account manager. But if they are now offering a service for this, I may just give them a call.

In the interests of completeness and given I was rather keen on this, you might want to read this:

Having supplied goods to Ebuyer the consensus seems to be that everything is great until something goes faulty. Main issues we had when I was working in IT eqpt distribution were with returns never coming back in.

As an ebuyer customer, I've not had any problems but I only bought a small item. I understand things are OK until something goes faulty.

If an educational institution already has credit facilities elsewhere, it may be easier to order from a distrubition level. I used to work in Technical Support / Customer Service @ Micro-P who normally sell over the phone. while others like C2K (computer 2000) and Ingram Micro allow online sales.

If buying from distribution is not an option, I have personally ordered vast mounts from www.CCLonline.com excellent returns, accurate stock levels (although the leadtimes on the websites aren't always accurate) if an item's stock level appears in pink it means it is not stocked in their warehouse but they can do direct shipments. Prices are a little more than others but only a couple of pence in the pound. Not sure about credit terms but they do offer accounts.

Other online computer stockists exist!

It may be cheaper as well, I know margins on IT products are tighter than ever these days but where I worked they were only taking 2%
Hope this helps.
