I was with Tiscali when they introduced the 100K service for £12.99. It started off ok but then got slower than dial-up. I complained bitterly and then wrote to them saying I wanted to cancel my contract as they were not providing a reasonable service. I got a call from a very nice man who said the problem had been traced to my local exchange and it should be ok now. It was much improved so I wrote thanking them. A week later they cut me off!!!! I've now got a 2M uncapped service with Orange for £19.99 per month. I'm pretty heavy on it and they don't seem to mind. So I intend to stay put.

Long story short they said I was doing dos attack must have virus we checked all machines everything was ok. They wouldn't tell me who i was meant to be doing dos attack on and they cut me off.
Moved to freedom2surf they said had complaint from so and so company about dos attack. Tracked it down to my podcast client and the said company having malformed xml deleted entry and all was well.

It does the job I want it to and I get free evening and weekend calls can't be bad. The service has been excellent so far.

to be fair to Zak (FN) he may not hold the purse strings in his house, and the decision to go with AOL is because it's very easy to set up. This is probably the reason a lot of teachers go with it. I used to have it myself.
