Buy a cheap DVD player which can be used instead of a computer? Let them make as many copies as they want and pass them to each teacher. So long as it's their own videos copyright shouldn't be a problem.
I'm pretty sure that you can just rename the extension of the .vob files in the ts_video folder to .mpeg as thats all they are i think. Im sure the AV Tech here did it for a DVD of a some school dance competion. Then you could just drop it into a shared folder and create a shortcut to it? Not sure how well it works but will ask him to confirm it when he's back in the office.
Your right a simple rename and it works :)
Glad to hear it worked!!
Hi
If you want to save space on your file server, which in a school is always handy. I would suggest sharing a folder called something like "media" mapping a drive for all teachers. The on your machine download Any Video Converter (free) and convert the files to AVI using an xvid codec (part of the AVC install) with original frame sets. Then copy this to the media folder and setup permissions so that they can only read it. This will save you lots of space without losing the quality.
Hope this helps.
