We had a bulb fail in an NEC VT575 projector yesterday. We were quite surprised as we keep a close eye on all projectors and their usage and the bulb was only 9 months old and done less than 900 hours.
I contacted NEC who said:

We use Hitachi here and get a nice 5 year warranty on lamps
We have started using the casio led's here and the staff are over the moon with the brightness and the versatility of them especially the usb and wireless dongle. All with 5 year EDU warranty with 10,000 hours of life.
Our intentions is to replace all our projectors with these wireless casio models and centrally manage them thus making them last longer.
Plus they are very ECO friendly using less power than the older bulb type projectors. :D
Are the casio led's data projector Orange in colour caseing?
