basically I'm looking to replace a setup here thats become a nightmare.
In one of our offices we've a meeting room with two projectors, that are connected to a PC and also two floor boxes with VGA inputs
This is all controlled by a Crestron multi switch system with a touchscreen remote - I'm sure at one point this was very shiny and new and lovely, but its a flaming nightmare to deal with. I've now lost my rag with it as its started to require a reboot before each use...
So, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a multi-in/mulit-out AV switch system - preferably with nice big hardware switches ;-)
So I'm looking for at least three inputs and two outputs - Ideas?
A KVM not suitable I guess if you need multi inputs?
I have a set up of a KVM and a switch box (VERRRRY old now) that gave me 2 inputs and (depending on the KVM) many outputs. Very simple, no tech behind it.
Afternoon bud is this something like:
Extron Electronics - New <i>'xi'</i> Switchers for VGA, Mac, and RGB
hope it is have used Extron kit before and it is solid in fact we have a multi input setup in the SLTs office with remote switching. :)
Another one here:
If it were me, I'd be looking at getting the Crestron stuff fixed, rather than replacing with less capable equipment.
Failing that, Kramer stuff is OK at the school money end of the spectrum.
The second of those looks ideal bossman thanks! I'd just have to pass the output to a display replicator, no hardship really.
Not come across extron before - cheers!
I'll try and get a pic of whats currently in there - its so OTT you wouldn't believe ;-)
Its not fit for purpose, was sold to the company by a contracted media installer, and is a nightmare to deal with - after 3 years of it I'm beyond done...

I second the Extron equipment, their products have never let me down. If you go for any other solution you might need to think about the control system (since I am guessing that the Crestron system is all in one? AV switching and control?) you may need additional components other than the switcher.
I've had mixed quality with Extron some is ok and some is poor. I had some simple splitters ages ago from them and they were just not sharp. I'd consider a Kramer product, not cheap for high end switcher scalers, but Ive done some pritty good AV setups with them and they are very idiot proof.
