Wow...wow...wow!
if it had been posted on ! April I don't think I would have believed it. I still don't know how it can be true.
Shame it's not an April fool! Then again Adobe have always been known for manipulating dark energy! ^^
We are looking into buying this but were told by one of the companies we spoke to that some applications in the CS5 Master Collection will only work on Windows 7 64 bit, he said Photoshop CS5 was one of those applications.
Has anyone else heard if this is true? I did a bit of googling and couldnt find an answer.....
Thanks
Had a quick look at the System requirements and it doesn't mention it. System Requirements
When will this become available to download off the Adobe Licensing Website (LWS)?
There's a some new feature rundowns here: Top 5 Features of Popular Adobe CS5 Products | Adobe CS5
Its got demons in it - the only explanation
Some parts of the group of CS5 Apps need X64 CPU's:
Source: system requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master CollectionQuote:
Processor with 64-bit support required for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects®
As you can see its got pretty hefty requirements!!!
re system requirements: Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After Effects can now work in 64 bit, which is big news for professional users as they can access tons of RAM now. This doesn't mean that you MUST run them in 64 bit though, so don't worry. The minimum spec for Photoshop hasn't changed very much, and I think most CS3 and CS4 users will upgrade their software with no problems. The full System Requirements for Windows and Mac platforms are here if you want to check: system requirements | Adobe Photoshop CS5 Similar pathway for all the other products. As for delivery, We've been taking orders since the release on the 12th, although as we can sell boxed CS4 versions until they run out with a free CS5 upgrade, they're the popular ones at the moment :) The last date for placing licence orders if you need any more CS4 licences is April 23rd for TLP and April 26th for CLP, so my guess is that CS5 licences will start to be processed after those dates. You can order CS5 now, but we can't deliver it yet, in other words. I hope that helps you with your planning. Incidentally, one bit of fabulous news is that the really really cheap Student edition is now available for staff as well. Woohoo!
This just in from one of our product managers:
I’ve just had confirmation that CS5 Production Premium is not supported on Windows XP 64.
Only Windows Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 are supported, as specified in the System Requirements.
Customers who have purchased a workstation with Vista or Windows 7 with XP Pro Downgrade can use the media provided with their computer to upgrade the O/S. They’ll need to perform a backup beforehand as the process will usually perform a factory restore over all their data.
Just installed CS5 (PC)
