The smart guidelines are in their install guide http://downloads01.smarttech.com/med...00v19mar10.pdf
But they are just guides, as long as whoever uses it can safely reach it we'll install it at any height.
Highest one i've ever seen was aprox 2.5m to the bottom of the board! (was being used as a (very expensive) projector screen in a hall)

I dunno if the working at height bit was the caretaker saying he won't move it due to having to work at height to do it allthough I would have thought the site team would have been on the relevant courses and be capable of writing the risk asessments etc...

plexer: this was specifically with respect to usage by teachers and students, rather than the actual install. I can sympathise with the arguments from both sides, but the difficulty is finding the happy medium.
The Site Team have bowed out though, and are now saying they won't move it in case they damage it. The teachers have agreed to move it 15cm, so now we're trying to find a 3rd party that can move it..

Couldn't you remove it from the wall, get the site team to move the brackets and then put it back up? then the site team don't need to have anything to do with the board itself.
I'm glad our site manager dosen't pull stunts like this, he occasionally drags his feet if staff aren't polite about how they ask(Alcohol usually works as an opology) but won't go down the H&S route unless something is actually dangerous... none of this ladder training nonsense(Independent school)
