Sanyo Projector Remote Control

We have a Sanyo Projector in our auditorium however the remote control is pretty rubbish and you can't easily control it via the remote. Is there a possible way of hard wiring it to a physical controller box or via usb to the computer? I want to be able to turn it on and off, change the source and mute the screen if possible.

Theres a control port and usb connector on the back of the projector itself... can anyone suggest something?

Can you give the model please?

Possible options are Vision Tech Ctrl Box or Pixie controller.
