    Yellow Image Hitachi CP-X253

    Hi,

    I've got three projectors at the school I work at which are all displaying a yellow tinted image;

    *There is no yellow image when a laptop is disconnected
    *I have tried with different cables
    *I have also tried with different laptops
    *I have also tried plugging a vga cable into laptop then directly into the projector (Bypassing box on wall that staff plug VGA cable into)

    Yet the image is still yellow tinted, does anybody have any hints. One projector has just started displaying a yellow image

    can you try sticking a composite source like a dvd player into it, as it might be the vga processing circuitry, but if it does it with every input, it may well be that whatever tells the projector to do blue has stopped working.

    so, my suspicions are:

    blue line from the vga port broken,
    blue LCD driver gone,
    Or, a burnt optical filter

    Either way I think you should start getting quotes for replacement!

    Could also be the lamp on its way out?! We've had yellow tints before, stick a new lamp in there and voila. Wouldn't recommend buying a new lamp until you're sure it's the problem though.

    I've had it when the vga cable as been dodgy and also when the bulb is going as SC92 suggests.
    Try reseting the projector to the factory default settings just in case someone as been tinkering with the settings.
