    Question Projector Bulb Replacement

    Hello,

I am after some quotes/recommendations for a projector bulb supplier if anyone can help me either here or by PM,

The projector broken at the moment is an Epson EMP-S4 and the replacement bulb needed is this part number - ELPLP36 / V13H010L36 - So far we have been quoted prices that have been hideously expensive (I know projector bulbs are not cheap, but the supplier we have got a quote from just now weighed in at over 85 more than last time we ordered one).

We would prefer a company based in the UK after our previous experience with a company advertising as UK but based in France let us down big time also(that teacher was without a projector bulb for nearly a month and all we got were empty promises that it had been posted).

    Thanks,

    Richard

We use projector point. Not sure if you need to open an account with them. Projectors from ProjectorPoint - LCD and DLP Projectors to Buy or Hire

    Who do you use now??

a good option is http://www.justlamps.net/welcome.asp i used to use them a lot when i worked in the AV industry, but they don't sell to end users. however they are very helpful and can reccomend one of their suppliers in your area if you give them a call.

Insight UK 135. It's ordered on request, but give them a call and see if they can ship-drop it direct from their supplier, they normally will.

We've stopped replacing bulbs and are replacing projectors with LED projectors now. Epson's 5 year guarantee makes it cost effective

I’ve used both of these companies, prices seem competitive and service has been ok (I’ve no links with either).

It depends on the age, spec and condition of the projector whether it’s worth getting a new lamp. We have one old Sanyo PLC - SE10 and despite the image still being very good a new bulb is the best part of 200 so it will get replaced after Xmas with one of the Casio bulb less ones. Others that still have a good image and reasonably priced lamps get an in house deep clean and new lamp.

If your projector is an old model that isn’t in production any more then the lamps could be in short supply hence the high prices you are finding. Prices for lamps are still expensive some models are worse than others but thankfully in most cases they are still better than they were a few years ago.
