I have had one of these installed since September in a reception class for speciial needs children. I had it mounted on a power lift so that it can be used by the tallest and the shortest in the class. As I was replacing a 65" Smartboard with it I had the same size screen with a pc built in to the back. The software is ok but our staff have over they years made lots of resources on Smart Notebook and they seem to run ok on it. The OS on the pc is win7 pro and one thing thing that did prove a problem was when using web based educational games, the touch and drag would move the whole page rather than the object on the page. Turning of Flicks on Windows was the answer to that.

Did you buy a collaborative license for Smart Notebook for it?

I remember an AV advisor telling me "no one will come and inspect. No one will ever know".

I saw these, and was quite impressed, but as mentioned they were still a little expensive when compared with the Clever Touch - probably be able to play them against each other for more accurate pricing. But even so compared with cost of projector, install, and smartboard they are still off the mark. Even when considering bulbs and filters etc.

CleverLCD Touch TFT LCD monitors for computer use
Can you get cheaper pricing?
Would like to get at least 70 inch ones.
Thinks if we were to go for this we would need 6 or 8 at one time and another 10 at another time (cant remember how many new classrooms in our new building is)

There is quite a price hike between 65 and 70". Don't forget these are widescreen 16:9, so a 65" is as wide as a traditional 4:3 whiteboard. Also being high definition they are much clearer for the children to see.

10th February 2012, 01:00 AM #45 Not sure how the prices fare but in the end we opted to go for the Genee Touch - it was a toss between that or the Clever LCD. For a 42" screen we paid £1,655. The Hi-Lo stand, that is height adjustable on wheels, was £1k.
I don't know what to make of it until we get our hands on it in 4 weeks time, but from the demonstration it looked like the business. I liked how it doesn't require drivers and you can use your SMARTBoard software with it instead of using the software that comes with it. Although it does look like it's real good as an alternative to using the SMARTBoard software.
