@Localzuk you would be looking around the £7k mark I believe for an 82" (according to a sahara rep I spoke too). Thats roughly the same as a projector, whiteboard, installation cost with a lot of companies for a board of that size

£7k??? Who told you that? I'd like to buy some, ha
The RRP on the Touch Dual is £16,999. I'm about to drop @localzuk an email with heavy discounts. But the 82" weighs 138KG so will require a special install
Cheers

A chap called Michael Foster at sahara, he told me over the phone thats how much it would cost, but that is if you are buying 20 or more in 1 hit!
I would be very cautious about taking prices direct from Sahara as they do not supply direct, best speaking to your AV reseller.
The Clevertouch screens are a great bit of kit. I have seen hundreds od demo's of this product and never seen a screen crack. The reason they are so heavy is that they have 4" reinforced glass so they are at least as strong as an IWB.
The other thing to think on is that these screens can accept an HD input so even if the screen is not as large as a projected image due to the quality of the image they are still very clear from a distance. You can also enlarge areas of the screen (with the ipod pinch) very easily. If price is a concern then the newer 60" models with built in audio may be worth a look.
If you are going to attend BETT we have arranged for the first showing of the 82" screen on Capita's stand (as sahara are not there themselves). There will be a Sahara representative there as well so well worth a look.
4" reinforced glass ?????? that would be at normal glass weight around half a ton in glass alone? reinforced glass would be heavier, do you really mean 4" i dont think in practice they will ever be as strong as a IWB Especially a clever board as they are enamaled steel, stronger than a smart board yes (but so is brown paper) and i dont think stronger than a promethiean either i have seen many of then with quite large dints and still work ( no not smart board).

Oooh you may be right there Mark 4" is very thick isnt it! I will check with Sahara however i can say that these screens are very very tough!
CleverLCD comes with 4mm reinforced glass on models to 60" and 5mm thick on the 65" and above. Glass is rated to UL1950 which is a 0.5kg steel ball swung into the glass from a metre. Backlight life is minimum 50000 hours in some cases 60000 hours.
Did andbody see the C-touch at BETT? (not to be confused with clever touch)

On the medium stand (Little Thing) but Had a Huge touch screen at the back and quite large ones at either side.

We have around 20 of these in our school now, with the first being installed just before Summer. They do have a nice wow factor with the kids AND prospective parents, but they are very expensive for what they are. We have the 60" models and they weigh 15 stone so require a sturdy solid wall to mount them onto.
can you PM me rough costings?
Are they suitable as a IWB replacemnt?
